KraftMaid Construction in Huntington Beach, CA | Square Deal Contractors
We provide independent KraftMaid cabinet installation, refacing, and repair across Huntington Beach, from downtown beach cottages to the ranch tracts of 92646 and 92647. The thing that makes KraftMaid work different here is the coastal zone: west of Pacific Coast Highway, a cabinet layout often has to change to satisfy a Coastal Development Permit, and everywhere in Huntington Beach, marine air works on hinges, glides, and door faces year-round. We’re not authorized by KraftMaid, and that’s the point. We diagnose what’s in front of you instead of selling a replacement by default. Call (866) 623-7205 for a free estimate.
Why Huntington Beach Residents Choose Us for KraftMaid Service
We’ve installed and serviced KraftMaid cabinetry in hundreds of Southern California kitchens, from full-height pantry towers to vanity runs with original 1960s plumbing behind them. KraftMaid Concord, Brookhill, Winslow, and the Preview and Reflections semi-custom lines all turn up regularly in Huntington Beach homes, and we know how each behaves after a decade or two of salt air and coastal humidity. Nolan Breckett, our owner, grew up in the Baker Ranch area of Lake Forest and trained in the construction technology program at Saddleback College, and he still approaches every job the same way: figure out what failed, fix the cause, and don’t sell a kitchen when a hinge replacement does it. That’s the KraftMaid sales & service approach we bring to every job in Huntington Beach service area homes. Know what you’re getting into before the first nail goes in.

Common KraftMaid Construction Problems We Solve in Huntington Beach
- Sink base swelling from slow fog-driven leaks. We see this constantly in Huntington Beach, especially in older tract homes where the supply lines are original galvanized. A slow drip sits under the sink base, the particleboard wicks it up, and the floor of the cabinet swells and crumbles. By the time you notice the door won’t close square, the damage is done.
- Thermofoil and laminate door faces peeling at the edges. West-facing and south-facing runs in Huntington Beach get hammered by afternoon sun and salt-laden air, and the adhesive under thermofoil breaks down. You’ll see lifting at the bottom corners first, then the peeling spreads up the stile.
- Hinge-plate screws pulling out of solid-wood face frames. Marine humidity cycles wood constantly here. The frame fibers around hinge screws compress and loosen over time, and a door that hung true for fifteen years starts sagging.
- Drawer glides gumming up with salt-laden dust. Beachside kitchens accumulate a fine film of salt and sand that works into the glide channels. Add old lubricant, and you get sticky drawers and soft-close dampers that sound like they’re grinding chalk.
- Framed-box dimensions fighting modern appliance openings. KraftMaid built a lot of cabinets to 1990s and 2000s appliance specs. When a Huntington Beach homeowner puts in a new slide-in range or a taller dishwasher, the existing box often needs modification to make the opening work.
KraftMaid Service in Huntington Beach: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Any KraftMaid kitchen or bath project west of Pacific Coast Highway sits inside the coastal zone, and that’s a different regulatory world than anywhere inland. The Coastal Development Permit process routinely requires site-plan review, which means cabinet layouts get designed around view corridors and bluff-top setback lines rather than just the existing walls. We’ve seen a galley that was going to run along a window wall get reoriented because the coastal review flagged the sightline change, and we’ve shortened a vanity run to keep the water view intact from the primary bedroom. This is not a variable a contractor faces in Fountain Valley or Westminster. In Huntington Beach, the permit shapes the cabinet plan, not the other way around. A few blocks inland on Bushard or Brookhurst in 92646, the rules relax, but the marine air doesn’t, so moisture management and hardware selection still drive every decision.
KraftMaid Models & Products We Service in Huntington Beach
We work on the full KraftMaid range you’re likely to find in Huntington Beach: Concord raised-panel oak and maple from the 1990s and 2000s tract kitchens, Brookhill recessed-panel maple from mid-2000s coastal remodels, Winslow shaker-style from 2010s beach-house refreshes, and the Preview and Reflections semi-custom full-overlay lines with soft-close drawer hardware. Our parts approach is simple: we use OEM KraftMaid hinges, glides, and finish kits where they exist because the mounting patterns and finishes match. For discontinued hardware we spec quality aftermarket soft-close slides that fit the existing bore pattern. If the boxes are dry and square, we reface or re-hardware rather than gut. We only push full replacement when swelling, delamination, or water damage has compromised the carcass.

FAQs – KraftMaid Construction in Huntington Beach
Yes, when the boxes are dry and square. We reface and re-hardware KraftMaid cabinets regularly across Huntington Beach, because the face frames and boxes from the Concord and Brookhill era were often built better than the doors and hinges hung on them. If the carcass hasn’t swelled or delaminated, refacing gets you a fresh look for a fraction of a full tear-out. If the boxes are shot from water damage, we’ll tell you that too. Call (866) 623-7205 for an assessment.
Yes. West of PCH you’re in the coastal zone, which means a Coastal Development Permit and often a site-plan review before cabinets go in. The layout may have to work around view corridors and bluff-top setbacks, so you need a contractor who sequences the permit work and the cabinet work correctly. We handle that coordination as part of the project. Call (866) 623-7205 if you’re planning a coastal-zone kitchen, and we’ll walk you through what the permit means for your layout.
Thermofoil and laminate door faces lift when salt air and UV exposure break down the adhesive at the edges, and Huntington Beach’s onshore humidity accelerates it. West- and south-facing runs get the worst of it. In most cases we can strip the failing thermofoil and refinish or install new doors, depending on the condition of the substrate. Call (866) 623-7205 and we’ll tell you if your doors are salvageable.
It usually is. Salt-laden dust works into the glide channels, mixes with old lubricant, and turns into a paste that jams the rollers or bearing slides. The soft-close dampers on older KraftMaid drawers fail the same way. We clean and re-lubricate glides where they’re still true, and replace the dampers and slides where they’re not. It’s a repair, not a replacement. Call (866) 623-7205 for a quote.
We do it regularly, and the plumbing is the part that takes care. In a 1960s Huntington Beach tract home with original galvanized supply lines, the shutoff valves may not hold, and the drain rough-in rarely matches a modern vanity’s cutout. We adjust the rough-in, hang the new KraftMaid vanity to match the existing door style where possible, and re-tile the splash line to the new top. Call (866) 623-7205 and we’ll sort out what your bathroom actually needs.
